The
Toronto Maple Leafs exposed the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night with a 7-2 victory that had John Tortorella feeling like an absolute chump.
"This falls on me, I'm not really interested in learning how to coach in this type of season where we're at right now...but I have to do a better job.
According to Elliotte Friedman, this may have cost him his job. While Friedman states the head coach stepped down, the Flyers are claiming that the head coach was fired.
The Philadelphia Flyers are making a coaching change. Hearing that John Tortorella has stepped down.
This confusion just showcases that this whole divorce is quite messy and may have been a shock to the system given what we heard from Torts on Tuesday following the Leafs game.
John Tortorella's NHL future future in jeopardy
Quite frankly, it is hard to say whether or not John Tortorella is ever going to get another job in the National Hockey League.
Unfortunately, Tortorella has yet to have another campaign like 2003-04, when he won the Stanley Cup with a loaded
Tampa Bay Lightning roster.
He is a polarizing head coach and there are a lot of players out there who don't exactly love his style of coaching, with that in mind, there is a real possibility that he never gets hired again.
If this is the end of the road for Tortorella, he can at least go out knowing that he reached the pinnacle of the sport, even if this last season in Philadelphia was a complete and utter debacle.
