Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz has locked himself into a new deal with the team, and it's such a steal that Connor McDavid could be in play.
If you have been paying attention to the Toronto Maple Leafs as of late, then you probably know that they just signed their goalie,
Anthony Stolarz, to a four-year deal worth $3.75 million per season.
With the salary cap about to shoot up next Summer, Stolarz has put the Toronto Maple Leafs in an amazing position to go out and get some top-tier talent.

McDavid has yet to sign a new deal with the Edmonton Oilers, and very little progress has been made on that front.
There is a sense that he could explore the free agency market, and if he does, there will be 31 teams looking to sign him as quickly as humanly possible.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are Connor McDavid's childhood team, which makes them de facto frontrunners to sign the Ontario-born superstar.
Of course, Leafs fans should not get ahead of themselves. McDavid has yet to make his intentions clear. He believes in the Oilers, but doesn't seem eager to talk about his future.
Thankfully, guys like Stolarz,
John Tavares, and
Matthew Knies have all made it that much more possible that we see McDavid in a Leafs jersey come Fall 2026.
This is a situation that we will certainly be keeping our eyes on for the time being.
