Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz is in the process of negotiating a new contract, and Chris Johnston seems to have the scoop on his demands.

Anthony Stolarz had the best season of his career in 2024-25, and as a result, the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to keep him around for a while.
Of course, that is going to cost money. When a goalie has a season with a goals-against average of 2.14 and a save percentage of .926, you better believe he is going to want a hefty salary.
Over the course of the last few weeks, the Leafs and Stolarz have engaged in negotiations, and while a deal is expected to get done, little progress has been made.

According to Chris Johnston, Stolarz is also looking at waiting, because a good year could mean even more money in free agency.
I think, of course, for Stolarz, he's balancing what happens if he has a great year this year. He could be a UFA, and maybe his market goes higher in the cap environment.
Johnston also went on to say that it is likely that Stolarz will sign for about three to four years. As for the salary, Stolarz could be looking at $4 million per season, although he might be looking for $5-6 million.
My belief is it probably lands somewhere between a 3- and 4-year deal. Term-wise, that's bang on. The tricky part is the money. I don't know if it gets up into the fives or sixes. Realistically, I think it's more in that $3.7 million range, maybe a little above.

The insider went on to say that teams around the league are trying toi be cautious right now, especially with salary caps rising at a rapid pace.
There's a lot of hesitation across the league to make a bad deal right now. With the cap jumping, everyone's getting paid more. We'll see if either side is willing to bend to get something done.

Whatever the case may be, fans are very eager to see how this is all going to play out over the coming weeks and months.
