Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand just won the Stanley Cup, and with free agency on the horizon, there are all sorts of rumors involving him and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Brad Marchand was traded from the Boston Bruins to the Florida Panthers in the middle of the season, and it turned out to be a great decision for the Panthers.
Brad Marchand wins the Stanley Cup
The legendary forward has yet to make a decision, and he won't until July 1st. However, during his Stanley Cup celebration, some fans felt like he was trolling the Leafs.
In his Instagram story, the forward posted the song "Back to Back" by Drake. Of course, this is a reference to the Panthers winning two Cups in a row.
However, some felt like the inclusion of a Toronto artist was some kind of troll meant to get Maple Leafs fans going. We're not sure Marchand is thinking that many steps ahead.
Whatever the case may be, it is clear that Toronto Maple Leafs fans would love to have Marchand on the team, and they are looking for all of the best signs possible.
Although for now, the Leafs fandom should just assume that they aren't getting anyone, especially with how free agency has gone for the franchise over the decades.
If Brad Marchand does come to the Toronto Maple Leafs, it will be a massive deal, but again, it is hard to imagine that being the case.
Leafs fans can continue to dream on, and people like us will continue to rain on the parade so as not to make the expectations too high.
