Brad Treliving Officially Weighs in on Dillon Dube-Toronto Maple Leafs Rumors

There have been some rumors involving Dillon Dube and the Toronto Maple Leafs, which has ultimately led to an official response from general manager Brad Treliving.
The Toronto Maple Leafs could use some extra firepower right about now, especially with training camp officially beginning this week.
Players are trying to make the roster, while others are simply trying to fight to keep their jobs alive. Meanwhile, there are players without NHL contracts who want a shot.
One of those players is Dillon Dube, who is trying to get back into the NHL. He has a connection to Brad Treliving from the Calgary Flames days, and as a result, there are some who think a deal is on the horizon.
This eventually got shot down, but the rumor still persists, especially since Dube is allowed to sign soon.

This week, Treliving noted to the media that in order to sign Dube, they need to be as comfortable as possible.
At the moment, they are simply not in a position to make a move, and as a result, they will be looking elsewhere, for the time being.
Leafs GM Brad Treliving said «you'd have to be very comfortable» in adding one of the five Canadian WJC players to your team. While he's familiar with Dube from Calgary, he adds «that hasn't been a focus for us.»
At this stage of the game, this is probably for the best. The Maple Leafs have an abundance of players right now, and they should see what they have.
Overall, we do imagine that Dube will get a deal, but it simply will not be with the Toronto Maple Leafs. At least not in the immediate future.
Over the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see what other teams do, and if Dube will be part of their plans.
