Connor McDavid's Wife Just Confirmed His Future with the Edmonton Oilers

Connor McDavid is easily one of the best players in the entire world, and there is no stopping him from continuing to be the absolute best.

However, there is one achievement that still eludes him, and that would be a Stanley Cup championship. He has lost twice in a row in the Finals to the Florida Panthers, and some feel like he'll never win in Edmonton.

If the Oilers are serious about winning a championship, they must get a goaltender. Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard are not going to cut it. However, if the Oilers refuse to change things up, they may just lose McDavid next summer.

The Oilers captain is set to become an unrestricted free agent, and there has been a lot of talk about whether or not McDavid will want to re-sign.

He is eligible for a contract extension right now, but he hasn't signed one. Clearly, he wants to think things through and potentially wait to see how things go next season.

Recently, in the comments section of a recent post on Instagram, McDavid's wife, Lauren Kyle, simply wrote "Oil for life." In the eyes of many, this is a confirmation that Connor will be coming back, no matter what.

This is bad news for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are one of the teams buckling up for a potential run at McDavid in 2026.

Leafs fans have been trying to convince themselves that McDavid would come to Toronto, mostly because he was a fan of the team growing up.

However, one has to wonder if McDavid would want to go from one Canadian market to another. It would certainly be a tough transition for him.

At this stage, the safe money is on McDavid staying in Edmonton for the time being. That could even mean signing a short-term deal for the next few seasons.
