Craig Berube's Comments About Leafs Prospect Ben Danford are Very Telling

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Ben Danford is likely to be cut this week ahead of the regular season, and Craig Berube is speaking out on the defenseman's stock.
Ben Danford has no chance of making the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, and even the Oshawa Generals captain knows that.
This was never the goal of having him at training camp. Instead, he was simply there to gain experience and develop his game.
Overall, he has done just that, and as it turns out, he is already impressing his head coach, Craig Berube, who has watched him work hard all camp.
Ben Danford gets praise from Craig Berube
While speaking to reporters, Berube made it clear that Danford is working extremely hard and that he is a lot more physical than he lets on.
He's got a really good future. He has great feet. He closes plays out. He likes to get involved physically and use his body -- good defender.
Berube also went on to say that Danford is a player who is solid on the offensive side of things and could some day become a stud in that regard.
I think there is an upside there offensively. It's something he can take note and work on, because he does shoot it well. He sees the ice, you know, he makes good first passes. He has his head up all the time.
Only time will tell what is in store for Danford this season as his OHL eligibility is starting to approach its end.
The Maple Leafs would love to have this kid on the team in the future, although we do believe he will play with the Toronto Marlies first.
Overall, we are wishing Danford all the best as this season is set to begin.
