Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has been tasked with giving updates on Jake McCabe and in true Berube fashion, he isn't exactly saying very much.
Maple Leafs defenseman
Jake McCabe was placed on injured reserve Monday following a head injury sustained during a fight with
Garnet Hathaway of the Philadelphia Flyers.
It is an injury that a lot of Leafs fans are upset about and it is easy to understand why given the circumstances of how it all went down.
Jake McCabe remains out for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Meanwhile, Craig Berube faced the media today and he was asked about McCabe and whether or not there is a timeline for his return to action.
«Not really. I think it's just you have to go day to day here, and you know, he needs to get back on the ice, and then we'll go from there. I think that's probably the best way I can put it. And I'm not sure when that is.»
The loss of McCabe is a big one for the Toronto Maple Leafs as he has been a stud defenseman for them.
He has one goal and 10 assists so far this season with a +10 rating which makes him one of the most effective defensemen on the entire roster.
Tonight, the Maple Leafs are set to take on the Philadelphia Flyers once again, and this time around,
Ryan Reaves will be in the lineup.
Whatever the case may be, we wish McCabe a speedy recovery as you never want to see a guy have to deal with head injuries.
