Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev has been out for a few games now with an upper-body injury and fans are praying that he comes back soon.
Chris Tanev was easily one of the best acquisitions that Brad Treliving made during the offseason. The defenseman has been nothing short of sensational and he has been a huge piece on the blue line.
After all, with 17 points and a +26 net rating, the defenseman has been a force to be reckoned with on both offense and defense.
Toronto Maple Leafs get Chris Tanev update
Tonight, the Maple Leafs are playing against the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and once again, they are going to be without Tanev in their lineup.
However, the team did get some good news as the defenseman was on the ice just hours ago for the team's morning skate.
According to Craig Berube, there is a sense that Chris Tanev could be back as early as Saturday when the Maple Leafs look to take on the Colorado Avalanche.
There are no guarantees that Tanev will be back by then, however, this is still some good news to hang on to for the time being.
They have expressed interest in procuring another defenseman for insurance purposes, but there is no telling whether or not they will make it happen.
The pressure is on Brad Treliving right now, and with fans starting to band against him, this could be a long couple of days for the Maple Leafs general manager.
