Toronto Maple Leafs fans still miss Fraser Minten and Nikita Grebenkin, and that is not something that is going to be changing anytime soon, given recent information.
At last season's trade deadline, the
Toronto Maple Leafs parted ways with Nikita Grebenkin and Fraser Minten, much to the chagrin of the entire fanbase.
Instead, Minten went to the Boston Bruins for
Brandon Carlo, while Nikita Grebenkin went to the Philadelphia Flyers for
Scott Laughton.
For now, the jury is still out on Laughton, while Carlo certainly showcased that he is one of the best defensemen on the Maple Leafs.
Nikita Grebenkin and Fraser Minten make NHL rosters
Unfortunately, for the Toronto Maple Leafs, it would appear as though Minten and Grebenkin are thriving, even without the Maple Leafs franchise backing them.
According to Dave Alter of The Hockey News, both forwards have made their respective NHL rosters just in time for opening night of the NHL season.
Former Leafs prospects Fraser Minten and Nikita Grebenkin both crack opening night rosters in Boston and Philly, respectively.
This is huge news for both of these players, although for Grebenkin, this marks a huge shift in his stock, as he has been getting first-line reps throughout the preseason.
Both players have a middle-six ceiling, and this could be their opportunity to break out and finally spend a full season in the National Hockey League.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, it might hurt to do this, but you should try keeping tabs on these guys as the season goes on.
We wish both Fraser Minten and Nikita Grebenkin the best of luck going into next season.
