Leafs Captain Auston Matthews Trolls the Toronto Media Ahead of Muskoka Trip

The Toronto Maple Leafs are headed to Muskoka for a very special team bonding trip, and as you can imagine, captain Auston Matthews is very excited about going.
There is a lot riding on Auston Matthews' performance with the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, as he tries to improve upon his 33-goal campaign from last year.
Of course, he was going through some injury issues at the time, so you have to give the captain a little bit of grace. Having said that, the fans still expect a whole lot more.
Without Mitch Marner on his wing, this season is going to be a bit of a challenge, and the media will be looking to see if the captain can handle the pressure.
With the preseason winding down, the Maple Leafs are heading on their annual Muskoka trip, where the team will be looking to build chemistry.

Overall, the team is excited to be in Muskoka, including Auston Matthews, who spoke to the media about the significance of this getaway.
In fact, he even made sure to take a bit of a shot at Toronto reporters, noting that one of his favorite parts of the trip is being able to get away from the media.
Matthews said this with a smile on his face, although we're sure there is at least some truth to what he is saying when you consider his comments about Mitch Marner last weekend.
The media has been coming on very strongly when it comes to the Marner situation, and it is easy to see why Matthews might just be a bit fed up with it all.
Going forward, we're sure the Marner noise will die down all the way up until he returns for a game on January 23rd as a member of the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
