Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Pacioretty scored the series-winning goal against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night but it came with a truly sad admission.
Max Pacioretty is someone who has missed much of this season with injuries, and it has kept him out of the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup.
Pacioretty has been in the Maple Leafs lineup since Game 3 of the first round against the Ottawa Senators and in Game 6, he finally made his impact.
Max Pacioretty wins it for the Toronto Maple Leafs
With just a few minutes to go in the game, Pacioretty scored to give the Maple Leafs a 3-2 lead. They would eventually win the game by a score of 4-2.
After the game, the forward made a heartbreaking admission noting how there were numerous moments where he thought he would never play hockey again.
«I've had a lot of conversations with my family and others, and I thought that I was done playing a number of times.»
Thankfully, Max Pacioretty did come back and he has since made the most of this new lease on life.
He is very clearly playing some spirited hockey right now and a clutch goal against the Ottawa Senators has fans very excited about him.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs can get past the Florida Panthers, who are coming up next in Round 2.
If the Leafs can defeat the Florida Panthers, they can probably beat anyone. Although that path is not going to be easy.
