Mitch Marner Unveils the Name of His Newborn Son

Mitch Marner did not make it to Toronto Maple Leafs practice on Sunday as he was dealing with a bit of a family emergency involving his wife Stephanie.

As many of you know by now, Marner's wife gave birth to their firstborn child, a baby boy. It was a wonderful bit of news that just so happened to take place before Game 1 against the Florida Panthers.

Marner is going to be in the lineup tonight and there is no doubt that he is going to be playing for something greater.

Many of you might be wondering what the Marner's decided to name their newborn son. After all, this can be the most fun part of having a kid, naming them.

As it turns out, the family has gone with a truly nice and dignified name: Miles Daniel Marner. A name that will sound good being called at the NHL Draft in 18 years from now.

Tonight, fans will be looking for a big game from Mitch Marner. The playoffs have always been his achilles heel but now, he has an opportunity to change that narrative.

Whatever the case may be, the Maple Leafs are going to be in tough tonight. This is the kind of game that is going to be difficult, regardless.

The Florida Panthers are a very good team and even if they don't put their best foot forward, the Maple Leafs will have to play a gritty and hard-nosed brand of hockey.
