Notorious Toronto Maple Leafs Defenseman Finds Himself on Waivers

If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, then you probably remember defenseman Justin Holl, who struggled mightily, especially in the postseason.
Justin Holl is a defenseman who had a lot of Toronto Maple Leafs fans frustrated during the height of the Core Four era.
In the postseason, especially, Holl had a difficult time adjusting, and there were plenty of times when fans were begging for the D-man to get benched.
Eventually, the defenseman ended up with the Detroit Red Wings, where his decline has been striking. Even in the preseason, he has not looked great.

As a result of his lackluster play, the Detroit Red Wings decided that it would be best to put him on waivers, going forward.
Now, the defenseman is at risk of being sent down to the AHL, although he will have opportunities to work his way back up to the NHL.
At the end of the day, Maple Leafs fans probably understand why this decision was made better than anyone.
For Holl, this is obviously a very big setback, and we do sympathize with what he is going through right now.
Only time will tell whether or not he can prove to the Detroit Red Wings that he still belongs at the NHL level.
