Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ryan Reaves was recently traded to the San Jose Sharks, and he had some parting words for general manager Brad Treliving.
On Thursday night, Ryan Reaves was traded from the Toronto Maple Leafs to the San Jose Sharks in a move that many saw coming.
Now, defenseman Henry Thrun is a member of the Leafs, and he will have a chance to become the team's sixth defenseman this season.
Overall, Reaves has been quite vocal in the aftermath of the trade, and he has not held back how he really feels about Craig Berube and the fans.

While speaking with the media on Friday, Reaves noted that at the end of the season, he had a conversation with general manager Brad Treliving, where they agreed a fit was no longer there. As a result, the enforcer demanded a trade.
He got what he wanted, and as a result, he is thankful. Reaves made it a point to thank Treliving for giving him an opportunity elsewhere.
In his post-media availability, Ryan Reaves said there was no longer a fit in Toronto after everything that happened, including going on waivers. He thanked the Brad Treliving for helping him find a new place to play.
Reaves now gets a chance to chase the 1,000-game milestone he mentioned recently: «I still want to play - I'm 83 games away from 1,000 right now, and I'd love to hold on for another two years, hit that mark, and ride into the sunset.»

Overall, Reaves just wants to get to the 1000-game mark, and he has a solid opportunity to do just that.
Having said this, the Sharks will have to play him frequently for that to ever happen, and there is no guarantee that we will see it.
Meanwhile, the Leafs have replaced Ryan Reaves with Michael Pezzetta, so there will definitely be some grit here.
Only time will tell whether or not Pezzetta pans out.
