The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially submitted their opening night roster for the 2025-26 NHL regular season, and one of the inclusions is a bit of a surprise.
At 5 PM today, every team in the NHL had to adhere to a strict deadline in which the team would reveal its official roster for the 2025-26 NHL season.
Furthermore, many were curious to see if the Leafs would cut James Reimer, send down
Dennis Hildeby, and put
Easton Cowan with the Toronto Marlies.
Toronto Maple Leafs keep Jacob Quillan
Meanwhile, the actual roster is now official, and it includes a laundry list of names who were an absolute given. However, many figured the Leafs would go with eight defensemen and 13 forwards.
Instead, they have gone with 14 forwards and seven defensemen. This has given a major opportunity to beloved prospect, Jacob Quillan.
Quillan played a few games with the Leafs last season, and he was immediately beloved by the fanbase. His place on the roster is well-earned, even if he does not play a ton.
Only time will tell whether or not Quillan can make his way to the third or fourth line and show the Leafs brass that he belongs for the long haul.
You can find the entire roster, down below.
