Calle Jarnkrok is a player who missed most of last season with a sports hernia. He eventually came back for 19 games at the end of the season, but only had seven points.
In the playoffs, he was downright awful with just one assist in 12 games. The bottom-six was almost useless in the playoffs, and unfortunately, the forward was an example of this.
Are the Toronto Maple Leafs trading Calle Jarnkrok?
According to David Pagnotta, the Leafs have talked to Jarnkrok about trading him. For now, it doesn't seem like the forward is asking out. However, if a trade is presented, he will accept.
This is good news for the Maple Leafs and general manager Brad Treliving, who needs to get some tidy business done here, going forward.
The Leafs had a discussion with Calle Jarnkrok; I don't think he's asked for a trade, but I don't think he would object to one given the circumstances
According to previous reports, the Leafs have had numerous problems trying to trade Jarnkrok and
David Kampf. Teams just don't want to pay a price.
Their production is not good enough, and rival general managers know just how desperate the Leafs are to move on.
Having said that, as the free agent market gets thinner, the Leafs will have an opportunity to get Jarnkrok unloaded, thus creating more cap space.
General Manager Brad Treliving still has a lot of work to do, but it is clear that the Maple Leafs are fairly on track.
