There have been numerous trade rumors surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Morgan Rielly and Brandon Carlo are among those at the center.
Morgan Rielly and Brandon Carlo are two players who have been embroiled in numerous trade rumors over the past few weeks.
Of course, Rielly has a no-move clause, which means he would have to approve of the Leafs moving him. At this time, the defenseman has not expressed an interest in leaving.
Meanwhile, the other defenseman being considered for a trade is Brandon Carlo, whom the Leafs traded for during the deadline this past season.
Are the Maple Leafs trading Brandon Carlo and Morgan Rielly?
According to Nick Kypreos, the Maple Leafs have made a decision on who they would like to trade, if a trade does, indeed, occur.
That defenseman would be Brandon Carlo. As Kypreos explained, Carlo could be flipped for some top-six scoring.
If the Leafs move a defenceman it'll likely only be one of them; [Brandon Carlo] could be part of a deal that adds some scoring to the forward group
At the end of the day, a Carlo trade would be huge, but there is a large portion of the fan base that would like the defenseman to stay.
He is one of the few defensive partners who has been able to tame Morgan Rielly.
Moreover, Carlo is the kind of guy that you want to go into the trenches with once the playoffs start.
Either way, general manager Brad Treliving has some big decisions to make, and we will be anticipating more moves over the coming weeks and months.
