The Toronto Maple Leafs play the New York Rangers tonight and to prepare for this game, the team has decided to make a lineup changing involving the fourth line.
After a win against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs are back in action on Thursday where they are taking on the New York Rangers.
Overall, this is a huge opportunity to take control of first place in the Atlantic Division, and there is no doubt that the team will be motivated to have a good game.
That said, head coach Craig Berube is looking to make some lineup adjustments heading into tonight, especially regarding his fourth line.
For the past couple of games, the fourth line has consisted of
Scott Laughton at center with guys like
Steven Lorentz and Calle Jarnkrok on the wing.
However, according to Sportsnet reporter Luke Fox, that is going to change tonight as Jarnkrok is coming out of the lineup and David Kampf is coming back in.
This is a pretty interesting move considering Jarnkrok has been good since returning to the lineup, while
David Kampf has mostly been very average.
In 52 games this season, Kampf has managed just four goals and 10 points which isn't exactly production to write home about.
Regardless, he is a fourth line player so the Leafs are just hoping to get whatever they can out of him. The team is trying to get through a stretch of hockey with a lot of games and making these kinds of changes is expected.
If they can win tonight and make it three victories in a row then the Maple Leafs are going to set themselves up nicely for momentum to end off the season.
