Toronto Maple Leafs Now Have Stiff Competition For Their Top Free Agency Target

Jack Roslovic is a player whom the Toronto Maple Leafs are rumored to be interested in. While playing for USA Hockey in junior, Roslovic was actually teammates with Auston Matthews.

That connection is certainly enough to generate interest, although the Leafs could also use right-handed shots with an ability to play on the wing.

After scoring 22 goals last season, there is no doubt that Roslovic is a good player, and it only makes sense that the Leafs would pursue him. In fact, the interest appears to be mutual. It was said that once the Leafs move out some roster players, Roslovic will officially sign.

Unfortunately, for the Maple Leafs, it may not be that easy. We say this because Roslovic is also being pursued by the Colorado Avalanche.

This comes from Chris Johnston, who revealed this on his podcast. The Leafs now must compete with one of the best free agency destinations in the entire NHL.

Ultimately, Maple Leafs fans are going to have to get used to all of these amazing teams trying to take their players.

When you are competing for championships, you end up wanting the same players as the other viable contenders. In many ways, the Leafs and Avalanche are in the same boat right now.

Roslovic does seem to be interested in the Leafs, which bodes very well for them moving forward.

Whether or not the Leafs can get this deal across the finish line, still remains to be seen.
