Toronto Maple Leafs fans want to see the team make a move soon, although according to Pierre LeBrun, there is a very specific plan being put into motion.

If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you have probably been waiting for the team to make some kind of huge move for a while now.
Unfortunately, that has yet to happen. So far, the team has made some smaller moves and has mostly just kept things status quo.
However, Mitch Marner has yet to be replaced, and all of the reports show that general manager Brad Treliving, does, in fact, want a top-six forward on the team.

Pierre LeBrun on the Toronto Maple Leafs

According to Pierre LeBrun, there are two strategies that the Leafs are trying to juggle right now. The first, involves making a trade in-season.
However, the second involves free agency, where a guy like Connor McDavid might just be available for the taking.
They want to be aggressive in-season...but they also know there might be a play next summer
Many expect the Toronto Maple Leafs to be frontrunners for Connor McDavid, although there is no actual guarantee that this will be the case.
At the end of the day, the Leafs are lacking assets, and as a result, free agency might be a much safer bet than the trade market.
Whatever the case may be, fans of the team are going to be exceptionally tapped into these next few weeks.
Only time will tell whether or not Treliving gets a deal done, or simply waits until the deadline.
