Anson Carter proposes ridiculous Mitch Marner trade

Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs got blown out by the Florida Panthers and it had TNT broadcaster Anson Carter proposing a truly wild Mitch Marner trade.
As it pertains to the Panthers game, the Leafs lost by a score of 5-1 and it was not pretty, whatsoever.
The Leafs were just not playing their best hockey and it was clear that the depth was severely lacking, for the most part.
On the TNT broadcast, Carter floated a hypothetical trade to Paul Bissonnette, who is TNT's resident Maple Leafs fanatic.
During the segment, Carter asked if the Leafs should consider trading Marner to the Colorado Avalanche for Mikko Rantanen in a one-for-one deal.
As Carter explains, both of these players are in contract years and it may make sense for each team to move on from their current guys and pay someone else.

Unsurprisingly, Paul Bissonnette was not feeling this proposal.
He said that the Maple Leafs should just pay Marner and leave it at that, as he can still play at a high level.
Marner is leading the Leafs in a points right now, so it is very hard to sit there and say that the Leafs should just trade him.
However, these kinds of hypotheticals are entertaining and they do lead to engagement on social media.
Brad Treliving has some work to do, but a Mitch Marner trade is probably the last thing on his mind.
Only time will tell what the direction the Leafs go in next.
