Maple Leafs injury woes continue as fan-favorite goes down in blowout loss to Panthers

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bobby McMann has become a fan-favorite of sorts over the last few weeks thanks to his play on the team's top line.
He has been on the first line due to the injuries to Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies.
Overall, he has been very solid and the fans are happy that he has been there to fill in some of the gaps that have been left.
Last night, however, things did not go so well for McMann, and this was true on multiple occasions.
Firstly, it should be noted that the Maple Leafs lost to the Florida Panthers by a score of 5-1, which is very bad, but we will get into that later.
As for McMann, at one point, he lost a skate blade and then had to hobble over to the bench.
Later in the game, he hobbled back to the bench again, although this time, it was because of a lower-body injury.

McMann left the game and never returned. Hopefully, we get a full update on McMann at some point today.
As for the game itself, the Panthers are a team that the Leafs need to be able to beat in order to proclaim themselves as the best in the Eastern Conference.
After winning seven of their last eight, fans wanted a big win against Florida to cement them as championship contenders.
In the end, they got blown out, and now, the Leafs will have to figure out what went wrong before they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
Hopefully, the return of Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies can make things better.
