William Nylander Breaks His Silence on John Tavares' New Maple Leafs Contract

John Tavares recently got himself a new contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and during the European Media Tour, William Nylander was asked to give his take.
William Nylander and John Tavares carried the second line last season, especially as they combined for an absurd total of 83 goals.
Going into this season, they will be on a line together again, as Tavares signed a four-year deal during the offseason. In fact, this deal saw the former captain take a significant pay cut.

The Swedish winger was very honest about his teammate, noting that he is a sensational leader who has shown him a lot about what it means to be an NHLer.
Yeah, I mean, he's been an incredible leader for me and I've learned a lot from him both on and off the ice. He's been great for the team and showed his commitment to wanting to wake up in Toronto. So I think everybody on the team appreciates that a lot, and that shows leadership for sure.
This kind of commentary bodes well for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who need all of the camaraderie they can get throughout the NHL season.
Without
Mitch Marner, William Nylander and John Tavares are going to have to be the best versions of themselves, and it remains to be seen who they will be linemates with.
Having said that, this is going to be a transition year for the Maple Leafs, and fans should temper their expectations accordingly.
The season begins in about six weeks from now, and if one thing is for certain, it is that Maple Leafs are very excited to finally see this team in action again.
