Toronto Maple Leafs Fans Haunted by the Worst Trade in Franchise History

The Toronto Maple Leafs have made plenty of trades with the Boston Bruins over the years, although there is one that will haunt fans for a very long time.
Tuuka Rask could have been the franchise goaltender for the Toronto Maple Leafs over a decade ago. However, that didn't happen.
Instead, Rask went to the Boston Bruins, where he made it to two Stanley Cup Finals as a starter. Furthermore, he was considered to be one of their best goalies in franchise history.
Unfortunately, the Maple Leafs gave Rask up for Andrew Raycroft, a goalie who, at the time, was already starting to go on the decline.
It was a truly awful trade, and today, the trade came back to haunt Maple Leafs fans in a visceral way that is now being awarded on social media.

Recently, The Leafs Nation asked Toronto Maple Leafs fans to vote on the worst trade in franchise history. A day prior, the Doug Gilmour trade was named the best.
Of course, Rask for Raycroft was voted the worst, and it is very easy to see why that would be the case. Ultimately, there aren't many other options to vote for.
The Maple Leafs ruined their goaltending for a decade with that move. Had they kept Rask, they could have had a lot more success earlier on.
Now that Rask is out of the league, Leafs fans shouldn't dwell too hard on this trade nor the situation as a whole.
Instead, fans should focus on the goalies that they do have, which include Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll. They are a dynamic duo who keep winning games.
Hopefully, Brad Treliving doesn't make any trades like this in the future, otherwise, fans will be livid with him.
