Maple Leafs Forward Max Domi Earns Massive Promotion But If He Doesn't Perform, It Could Be His Last

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has struggled to score goals this season but head coach Craig Berube is still giving him chances to be successful.
Max Domi only has three goals in 44 games this season and as it stands, he has a total of 19 points, which simply isn't good enough when you consider his contract.

Consequently, Berube decided to give Domi a promotion by putting him on the top line with
Auston Matthews and
Matthew Knies. Luckily for Domi, he gets to play right wing in this scenario.
According to the Maple Leafs head coach, the forward looked exceptional on the top line and there is a lot of optimism that if Domi does get a shot on the first line tonight, he will have an offensive explosion.
Domi played some minutes on the first line last season and it proved to be a successful venture for the 29-year-old.
However, with the forward's lack of success this season, this could very well be his last chance to show Craig Berube that he means business.
If he squanders this chance, the Leafs could very well decide to trade Domi at the deadline, and no one would bat an eye about it.
Of course, it would be disappointing to see, but this is the NHL and it is a results driven league.
When the results aren't there, changes are made and while it's unfortunate, it is the brutal reality.
