Connor McDavid Rages at Edmonton Oilers Coaches After Heartbreaking Loss

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid got brutally honest with reporters after a second-straight Stanley Cup Finals loss to the dynastic Florida Panthers.
Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers experienced a truly horrific loss on Tuesday night as the Florida Panthers took home the Stanley Cup.
Game 6 was not a good one for the Oilers, who lost 5-1 just a few days after losing 5-2 at home in Game 5. The win was well-deserved for the Panthers, who are now back-to-back champions.
Unfortunately, McDavid and the Oilers are back-to-back losers, which means they must go back to the drawing board so that a loss like this doesn't happen again.

After the game, McDavid was understandably upset while speaking to the media. In fact, one of his answers could be construed as a shot at the Oilers coaching staff.
When asked about the difference in this series between the Oilers and the Panthers, McDavid was honest and said that the Oilers kept trying the same things over and over, which left them in a rut.
REPORTER: What was the difference in this series?
MCDAVID: Their forecheck was great, they tilted the rink. They were able to stay on top of us all over the place. We were never really able to generate any momentum up the ice. We kept f****** trying the same thing, over and over again, banging our heads against the wall.

Kris Knoblauch has certainly taken quite a bit of criticism for his coaching in this series. However, the biggest problem is the goaltending.
Oilers general manager Stan Bowman refused to fix the goaltending situation, and it left the team in complete shambles come Finals time. Next year, the team needs to get itself a viable goaltender.
Whether or not Bowman makes that plunge still remains to be seen. Hopefully, for McDavid's sake, he gets an elite goalie soon.
For now, the Oilers will simply have to stew in this loss and hope that somewhere down the line, they can win the Stanley Cup, once and for all.
