The Toronto Blue Jays are going on a deep playoff run, and this has created a dilemma for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings.
On Thanksgiving, which is Monday, the Toronto Maple Leafs are set to face off against the Detroit Red Wings.
This game was scheduled for 4 PM, which is not uncommon when it comes to games that take place on Holidays.
However, the Leafs found themselves in a bit of a bind as their counterparts, the Toronto Blue Jays, are going to the ALCS next week.
Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings to play earlier
Game 2 is set to be played on Monday, and the Scotiabank Arena wants fans in those seats to watch the game on the jumbotron.
As a result, the Leafs' game is now being moved to 2 PM. Afterwards, fans who stick around can watch the Blue Jays later that afternoon.
The National Hockey League announced today the start time to Monday's Detroit Red Wings-Toronto Maple Leafs matchup (Game #43), originally scheduled for 4 p.m. ET at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, will now begin at 2 p.m. ET (Prime, TVAS in Canada, FDSNDET in U.S.).
The change is to accommodate Game Two of the American League Championship Series being held at Rogers Centre in Toronto, on Monday.
Following the Maple Leafs game, fans will be able to stay in their seats at Scotiabank Arena to catch all of the ALCS action as the Sportsnet broadcast is aired on the videoboard in-arena.
It is a cool move and one that shows solidarity between the Leafs and the Blue Jays.
The city is buzzing because of the Jays, and one can only hope they win the World Series.
As for the Red Wings game, the Leafs will hopefully be going 3-0 after that one.
