Auston Matthews Looked Absolutely Perplexed While Simon Benoit Spoke French

Toronto Maple Leafs captain did a press conference alongside Simon Benoit and it led to some pretty hilarious results after a win against the Ottawa Senators.
Auston Matthews scored a goal on Thursday night in what proved to be a phenomenal game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators.
The Leafs won the match in overtime and it came off of the stick of an unlikely hero in Simon Benoit who isn't exactly known for being a clutch goal-scorer.
For the fans, it was incredible to see although if you are a fan of the Ottawa Senators you cannot help but be incredibly depressed about all of this.

After the game, the two men who got to speak to a room full of reporters were Auston Matthews and Simon Benoit. After all, who else would you talk to?
Hilariously, Matthews was left in awe at one point in the interview as Benoit was asked a question in french and then promptly replied in the same language.
Matthews was wide-eyed during the whole thing and it almost felt like he was both mesmerized and confused by what he was hearing.
To be fair to the captain, he is from Arizona where they do not speak a whole lot of French. As for Benoit, he is from Laval which is just outside of Montreal.
With Benoit playing so well these days, we could hear him speak a whole lot more in front of the media. It is just cool to see someone new get a bunch of credit.
On Saturday, the Maple Leafs will be back in action against the Senators in Game 4 where they will be able to put this series away for good.
Ultimately, the Leafs are still not done yet. They need to go out and finish this series off once and for all before the Sens feel like they still have a chance.
