Kawhi Leonard Had an Outrageous Demand for the Toronto Maple Leafs Amid Raptors Negotiations

Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard is currently under investigation by the NBA, and now, his Toronto Maple Leafs demand has been leaked.
Kawhi Leonard and Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer could be in significant trouble from the NBA thanks to a report from Pablo Torre.
In this report, Torre alleged that Ballmer used an environment startup called Aspiration to circumvent the NBA salary cap and offer Kawhi Leonard $28 million on top of his salary.
One of the alleged stipulations in the contract is that Leonard had to be a member of the Los Angeles Clippers in order to get paid.
If found guilty, Ballmer could be forced to sell the Los Angeles Clippers. Meanwhile, Kawhi Leonard could be hit with fines and a suspension.
Kawhi Leonard wanted a piece of the Toronto Maple Leafs
Of course, Leonard led the Toronto Raptors to an NBA Championship in 2019. That Summer, he entered contract negotiations that were notorious for his bad-faith demands.
Recently, Bruce Arthur of the Toronto Star put out a report claiming that Leonard even demanded ownership of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Of course, that was impossible.
Per Bruce Arthur:
"Sources in Toronto say, in one meeting, Uncle Dennis asked for an ownership stake in the Toronto Maple Leafs, because that way he wasn't asking for a piece of the Raptors. It was politely explained to him that both teams were owned by the same company, and that the request was impossible."
Overall, this just shows that Kawhi and his uncle Dennis were a bit out to lunch when it came to their demands in 2019.
The Los Angeles Clippers were desperate enough to allegedly give in, and now, they could be forced to pay the ultimate price.
