Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender is about to return to the franchise, although, as Elliotte Friedman reports, things aren't as easy as they may appear to be.
Toronto Maple Leafs took a leave of absence at the start of the season, which led to a ton of concern amongst Toronto Maple Leafs fans.
This past week, the goaltender revealed that he would be returning to the roster after over a month away. It was phenomenal news, and fans are feeling excited.
However, Elliotte Friedman is reminding Leafs supporters that this situation isn't as easy as they may think it is.
Essentially, Woll will return to practice, but for now, he cannot come back and play until November 1st at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the Leafs are going to want him to go on a conditioning stint first, which means some time with the Toronto Marlies.
He's going to rejoin them for practice - because he is on LTIR, he cannot rejoin them for a game situation until November 1st. I assume there is going to be a conditioning stint but right now, at this point, there is no set idea as to when he'll actually be able to plan an NHL game.
If you are a fan of the Maple Leafs, there is no denying that Woll's return to the team is extremely exciting, regardless of the circumstances.
With
Anthony Stolarz struggling with the workload, having Woll back will do this team wonders, and we are excited to see the reunion.
Only time will tell whether or not Woll can be his usual self once he does make that return to the ice.
