Max Domi appears to be dealing with a mysterious injury

In the absence of Auston Matthews, Domi has been the center on the team's top line. However, he still hasn't managed to score a single goal so far this season.

This is pretty out of character for him, and fans have been wondering if he could be going through something, much like Matthews has been.

Earlier in the week, it was revealed that Domi would be missing practice due to maintenance. At the time, William Nylander was given the same privilege.

Today, however, Domi got hit with yet another maintenance day, which is now begging the question that perhaps he has a lingering issue that needs to be taken care of.

Of course, Domi and the Leafs are mostly staying quiet on this issue, or at least for now.

Perhaps he just simply needs the rest. But when you see how Matthews was rendered ineffective due to a nagging injury, it becomes easy to see why the same could probably be said about Domi.

Only time will tell whether or not this maintenance day ends up helping him out or not. On Saturday, the Leafs take on the Edmonton Oilers.

The reigning Stanley Cup Finalists started off the season terribly but have been getting steadily better. Especially with Connor McDavid back, they are a team to be wary of.

The Leafs have played well over the last five-game stretch. They are 4-1 during this time and overall, the team is 10-6-2 on the season.

Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs can continue on this successful run, and if Domi can find his scoring touch.
