New Team Emerges at the Top of Mitch Marner's Free Agency Wish List

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner will probably be pursuing free agency this summer, and there reportedly is a multitude of teams at the top of his wishlist.
Going into the summer, Mitch Marner is easily the best player who is likely to be available as soon as July 1st hits. He had 102 points this season, and for all intents and purposes, that was a career year.
Having said that, fans are eager to see what kind of contract Marner will receive on the open market. The Leafs reportedly offered him $13.5 million, however, some teams are allegedly preparing to give him $15 million per season.
Throughout this free agency news cycle, the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Florida Panthers have been assumed to be at the top of Mitch's wish list.
Although, according to a new report from David Pagnotta on The Sheet, there is another team that has entered the battle as Marner's preferred destination.
Where is Mitch Marner signing in Free Agency?
The franchise in question is the Los Angeles Kings. They have long been theorized to be in the running for the winger, and they certainly provide a great situation for Mitch to play in.
The Kings are high on Marner's list of teams he's looking at, higher than the Golden Knights; the Kings will be aggressive in pursuit of him
The fact that the Kings are higher on Marner's list than the Golden Knights is telling. It means the forward doesn't actually care about the tax situation, contrary to popular belief.
As for which team is better, that remains to be seen. The Vegas Golden Knights had a promising season but were crushed by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round.
Meanwhile, the Kings also lost to the Oilers in the first round, but under much different circumstances.
Whatever the case may be, the Mitch Marner situation is going to be a fun one to follow over the course of the next month or so.
