Controversial former NHLer Tony DeAngelo & Tim Peel get into massive Twitter feud

Former NHL star Tony DeAngelo and former NHL referee Tim Peel found themselves at odds on Twitter today following the election of Donald Trump.
DeAngelo was a controversial player during his time in the league and much of that had to do with his support of the Republican politician. On Twitter, DeAngelo decided to weigh in on the election, noting that he felt vindicated following Trump's win against Kamala Harris.
This subsequently led to a battle of words between DeAngelo and Peel, who believes DeAngelo's issues go far beyond just Donald Trump.

Here is what DeAngelo had to say:
"This feels good. I was one of the only athletes to stand behind Trump from day one. It's one of the reasons I'm not in the nhl anymore but our country is more important! The silent majority once again showed up, people who unfortunately had to be scared to support used the VOTE!"

"I don't think you standing by Trump is the reason. I stand by my comments a year ago. You're a distraction. You've played for 6 teams in 9 years. Look in the mirror!"
From there, the two continued to trade barbs before DeAngelo ended with a brutal takedown of the former NHL official.
"The little man @TimCPeel20 who is still desperately trying to break 12 views on his podcast is sending me my stat page as a dis. Idk the numbers look pretty good ?? 20 pts already? 200+ in the nhl? Thank you Tim! You know being a ref doesn't mean you made the NHL!"
