Former Toronto Maple Leafs Forward Breaks Ridiculous KHL Record

Years ago, the Toronto Maple Leafs had a forward by the name of Joshua Leivo who now plays in the KHL for Ufa Salavat Yulayev and it just so happens he's on a heater.
Joshua Leivo played with the Maple Leafs from 2013 to 2019 and during that time, he was mostly a fourth-line player who didn't get a ton of opportunities to shine.
Joshua Leivo becomes a star in the KHL
After bouncing around the NHL for a few years, Leivo has found a home in the KHL with Ufa Salavat Yulayev.
Last season, he had himself a big campaign with 38 points in 40 games. However, no one could have expected the heater he would go on this season.
In 43 games, he has 37 goals and a total of 58 points which makes him one of the most productive players in the entire league.
Furthermore, he just broke a KHL record for the most hat tricks in a single season. As of right now, he has four hat tricks on the year.
This is a truly incredible achievement and it just goes to show that the KHL can be a great league to show off true talent.
It's doubly interesting as some very good players have gone to Russia but have failed to thrive.
With that being said, it is good to see Leivo doing well and showing the world that he is a world-class player, even if his NHL career may have stalled out.
37 goals in 43 games is nothing to scoff at, especially in the second-best hockey league in the entire world.
We wish Leivo continued success in the KHL as he looks to bring his team a championship.
