The Ottawa Senators and Nick Cousins are both going to have to reach for their pockets after trying to mess with Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz.

Overall, the Senators forward was seen shooting pucks at Anthony Stolarz during the warmup which is one of those things that is expressly forbidden by the league.
As a result, an investigation was launched and now, we have some punishments to report.

Nick Cousins and Ottawa Senators fined

According to NHL Player Safety, Cousins has been hit with a maximum unsportsmanlike conduct fine of $2,083. Overall, a drop in the bucket considering what he makes.
Ottawa's Nick Cousins has been fined $2,083.33, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for unsportsmanlike conduct during last night's pre-game warm-up against Toronto.
Meanwhile, the Ottawa Senators also got hit with a pretty hefty fine with the NHL seeking $25,000 for enabling such behavior.
This is definitely a gut punch when you consider how the team is already down 3-0 in the series and could be eliminated on Friday.
The @Senators organization has also been fined $25,000 by the NHL.
Ultimately, nothing has gone particularly well for the Senators in this series and even attempts at a competitive advantage have led to ruin.
At this stage, the Senators are going to have to figure themselves out before they just get bounced in a sweep. The Toronto Maple Leafs are ready to make it happen.
