Anthony Stolarz Breaks His Silence on Joseph Woll's Leave of Absence

With Joseph Woll out of the Toronto Maple Leafs' lineup for the foreseeable future, Anthony Stolarz is being asked to carry the load through the month of October.
Going into the NHL regular season, the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to be without goaltender Joseph Woll, who is currently on a leave of absence.
As it stands, we do not know how long this leave of absence is going to last. It could be a few more weeks, or perhaps even another month.
In the interim, goaltender Anthony Stolarz is going to have to carry the load, and it is not going to be easy to do so, especially since the team doesn't have much confidence in backup Dennis Hildeby.
While James Reimer might get signed to fulfil that role, he still isn't Joseph Woll, and for this team, that is a bit of a problem.
Anthony Stolarz gets real about Joseph Woll
Last night, Stolarz faced 41 shots against the Detroit Red Wings, which is way too many shots when you consider his upcoming workload.
In fact, aftrer the game, the goaltender was extremely honest about how he is well-aware that the Maple Leafs will be leaning heavily on him over the coming days and weeks.
I expect to be leaned on quite a bit here. I'm just preparing each day and taking it all in. You don't want to look ahead.
Quite frankly, you can't help but be a bit concerned here. Stolarz is not used to playing more than 40 games in an entire season.
Furthermore, with his injury issues from the past, there is a real chance the Leafs end up overworking him early in the season, which creates issues down the line.
Ultimately, this is a storyline that we will follow throughout the first weeks of the season. Only time will tell whether or not Stolarz can meet the moment.
