Anthony Stolarz has been sensation for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs so far as he has a goals-against average of 1.95 and a save percentage of .926.
Anthony Stolarz ties Ken Wregget
According to Lance Hornby, Stolarz is the first Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender since
Ken Wregget to win his first three playoff games with the franchise.
Moreover, Stolarz has tied a franchise record for wins in a row with 11. These 11 wins include eight regular season games and three playoff games.
Ken Wregget, during a best-of-5 sweep of Chicago in 1986, is the only goalie we can see other than Stolarz to win his first three playoff games as a Leaf. Sportsnet has Stolarz tied for club's longest combined reg. season-playoff streak of 11-0-0 (includes 3 s/o, and .944 save %)
It does feel like Anthony Stolarz is unstoppable right now, although there is no telling whether or not he will be able to keep this up, especially with Game 4 going down tonight.
The Senators are going to be motivated to show that they still have some fight left in this series, because if they lose tonight, it is all over.
The Maple Leafs have a pretty good chance of finishing things off tonight. The Senators have been undisciplined and seem as though they just weren't ready for this moment.
Whatever the case may be, we cannot wait to see how this game plays out and whether or not Anthony Stolarz is able to keep his streak alive.
