Despite being best friends and longtime teammates with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Auston Matthews revealed something surprising about him and Mitch Marner.
Auston Matthews said that he and Mitch Marner haven't spoken since arriving at the 4 Nations Face-Off which is showing the intense rivalry between Team Canada and Team USA.

The tournament that is making the best NHL players play against their NHL teammates on the international stage has intensified the rivalry between Team USA and Team Canada.
The last time these two teams met in an emotional event was the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and even at that time, the rivalry wasn't as big as right now.
Auston Matthews played at the time for Team North America alongside Connor Mcdavid and Mitch Marner didn't participate.
The tension were evident in their first meeting on Saturday which featured three fights between Team USA and Team Canada in the opening nine seconds and the tensions are on the verge of being even higher in the final matchup.
Both Auston Matthews and MItch Marner have had underwhelming tournaments, with Marner scoring an overtime winner against Sweden and Auston Matthews managing just one assist in two games before missing a matchup for precautionary reasons ahead of the matchup.
With Thursday's championship game on the line, we can expect one final battle before they reunite in Toronto for the Maple Leafs' game Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Overall, this is going to be an epic game and the National pride on both sides will be off the charts.
