Auston Matthews Looks Uninterested While Rocking Team USA Jersey for the First Time

Auston Matthews has a huge opportunity ahead of him this season as he will be the captain of Team USA at the Olympics.

This is the first Olympics featuring NHL players since 2014, when Canada won the Gold Medal for the second-straight time. Overall, this is going to be an epic tournament, and the fans cannot wait.

Meanwhile, Matthews and his teammates have an opportunity to exact revenge on Team Canada, who beat them at the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Team USA orientation camp has been taking place throughout the past week, and so far, it has been a success, with many future Olympic team members getting their chemistry in order.

Furthermore, they have been doing photoshoots with the players in which they put on their Olympic threads. It's something fun to do to get the media involved, and the players always participate.

However, Auston Matthews doesn't seem to be as enthused as everyone else. We know this because his reaction to taking a photo in his new threads was absolutely hilarious.

In the image above, you can see that Matthews really doesn't care, or at least, he's not showing that he cares.

Rarely do we see Matthews smile for photos, but when you're wearing your country's jersey, you would think the excitement levels would be elevated.

Either way, we hope Matthews shows more enthusiasm than this while playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs this season.

Overall, the Leafs depend on their captain, and without Marner on the roster, the team is expecting a true bounce-back season from Auston.
