Brad Treliving Makes an Announcement Regarding Mitch Marner Sign & Trade to the Knights

Earlier this afternoon, reports suggested the Toronto Maple Leafs were trading Mitch Marner to the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Now, Brad Treliving is speaking out.
Mitch Marner trade talks have reportedly been ramping up as of late. In fact, Elliotte Friedman has confirmed that the forward could be sent to the Las Vegas Golden Knights by Tuesday.
The Leafs are looking for center Nicolas Roy in return, and this would give them the third-line center they have always dreamed of.
However, nothing is set in stone just yet, and fans are being told not to get ahead of themselves, as anything could happen in the next little while.
Mitch Marner to the Las Vegas Golden Knights
After today's NHL Draft, General Manager Brad Treliving was asked by the media about the potential Marner trade. It led to a secretive yet diplomatic answer, where he didn't want to give too much away.
I'm not going to comment. Tuesday is free agency, we will continue to work away at things, but nothing to report on that.
As for Darren Dreger of TSN, he went on to confirm that trade talks are happening, but no trade call has been made. Based on his report, however, he said that there is even a slim chance it gets done tonight.
No trade call has been made and nothing has been signed. There's still more work to be done regarding the potential of Mitch Marner being traded to Vegas and what the return could look like. It's unlikely to get done tonight - but that could change.
This is great news for Toronto Maple Leafs fans, who have been worried about the team losing Mitch Marner for absolutely nothing.
This return would be extremely solid for the team, and it would put them in a very good spot for free agency, as they would have less pressure to go out and get replacements.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs actually go out and get this done, or if it falls apart at the 11th hour. All we do know, is that there is a ton of intrigue here, and for good reason.
