Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan has not made his debut with the franchise, and with the team keeping him in the NHL, something feels off.
Easton Cowan is a young player who is still developing, and as a result, he needs to play real games, whether that be in the NHL or the AHL with the Toronto Marlies.
Fans want to see Cowan actually play, and this business of keeping him in the press box is doing the kid no favors. Meanwhile, the team continues to tease fans with his debut, which has created more expectations and anticipation.
Craig Berube teases Easton Cowan's debut
At practice on Friday, Cowan was in attendance and practiced on the third line. Yet again, head coach Craig Berube dangled Cowan in front of fans, saying we will see tomorrow whether or not he slots in.

Meanwhile, today's lines at practice showcase a status quo from the team's opener against the Montreal Canadiens.
The Detroit Red Wings aren't much better than the Habs, so it makes sense to go with this kind of lineup.
