The Colorado Avalanche tried to be funny on social media recently, and it took aim at teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Carolina Hurricanes.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, then you probably know all of the team's most embarrassing moments.
Of course, perhaps the most embarrassing moment came in 2020 when the Leafs lost to the Carolina Hurricanes, despite the Hurricanes putting in an emergency backup goalie.
David Ayres became a National sensation after beating the Maple Leafs, and we even got an iconic Steve Dangle video out of all of this.

Having said that, the Colorado Avalanche are now looking to get their licks in on the Leafs through their Haiku series on rival teams throughout the NHL.
In fact, today, the Avalanche didn't even make one for the Leafs. Instead, they were going after the Carolina Hurricanes. But in doing so, they mentioned the David Ayres situation.

It is doubtful that any Maple Leafs player even saw this tweet, so we doubt that they are even going to do anything about it.
The Avalanche are just trolling, and with nothing happening in the offseason, you can't blame them for trying to manufacture some drama.
If you are a fan, you are probably extremely bored right now, as are we. Nothing is happening, and we can't help but want to fast-forward a bit.
Hopefully, something interesting happens soon and Maple Leafs fans are graced with a new reason to be excited about next season.
