Without
Mitch Marner on the roster, it was always a matter of when, not if,
Auston Matthews and William Nylander would be on the same line together.
The Leafs put Nylander and Matthews together a few weeks ago, and for the most part, it actually worked out nicely for both sides.
Unfortunately, the Leafs are losing games right now, and head coach Craig Berube is trying to make sure this stops happening as quickly as possible.
On Tuesday night, the Leafs are set to play against the Boston Bruins, and some hard decisions have to be made in terms of the lineup.
Auston Matthews and William Nylander broken up
According to Luke Fox, Berube has decided to take William Nylander off the first line and replace him with Nick Robertson, who is on a heater.
Meanwhile, Nylander is back with
John Tavares, where he is also going to play alongside
Bobby McMann, someone with whom he is familiar.
Berube splits Matthews and Nylander on the road in Boston.
Matthews centres Knies and Robertson.
Tavares centres Nylander and McMann.
The Leafs have lost two in a row, and fans are starting to grow very impatient with the team's lack of performance since the start of the season.
They are 8-7-1, and currently sit sixth in the Atlantic Division. This is not good enough, and the fans are expecting better results.
Only time will tell whether or not the Toronto Maple Leafs can get themselves back into gear and pull out a much-needed win tonight.
