Ahead of Monday's game against the Winnipeg Jets, the Toronto Maple Leafs surprised fans by revealing that Chris Tanev was dealing with some sort of injury.

Overall, this was not the news that Leafs fans were hoping for, especially since Tanev has been such a huge contributor to the team this season.
After the game, Craig Berube didn't have many updates to give on the defenseman, although it was clear that the team missed him that game.
Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are taking on the Detroit Red Wings, and Chris Tanev was in the projected lineup.
However, according to Berube, there is no real guarantee that the defenseman will play tonight. Instead, he is a game-time decision.
The Red Wings are a team in complete and utter disarray as they recently fired head coach Derek Lalonde and brought in Todd McLellan.
However, this could result in a bit of an energy boost from the Wings who want to impress their new bench boss.
As for the Maple Leafs, they are just going to need to do their best and play a solid game from beginning to end.
Tomorrow night, the Leafs will be back in action against the Washington Capitals, and that will be even more difficult.
