J.T. Miller is reportedly unhappy with the Vancouver Canucks and now, a former Toronto Maple Leafs player is claiming he could be traded for defenseman Morgan Rielly.
Meanwhile, J.T Miller is not getting along with a high-profile teammate, and there is a sense that he will not be on the Vancouver Canucks for much longer.
Jay Rosehill says J.T. Miller for Morgan Rielly works on all sides
In a new episode of Leafs Morning Take, former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Jay Rosehill spoke about the J.T. Miller and Morgan Rielly situations.
In the video below, you can see that he proposes a one-for-one trade in which Rielly would go to the Canucks, and Miller would come to the Leafs.
He is convinced that both of these teams would accept the trade, although there are a few factors here that counter this notion.
First of all, Morgan Rielly has a no-trade clause which means he has the final say on what the Maple Leafs do with him.
Moreover, there are reports claiming that J.T. Miller only wants to go to the New York Rangers.
Furthermore, the Toronto Maple Leafs need Rielly as he is their only number-one defenseman.
Although he is number two on most Stanley Cup contenders, the Leafs simply cannot afford to lose him.
Having said that, this trade proposal by Rosehill can be completely disregarded as utter nonsense.
It is not going to happen, and fans can just completely forget about it.
