Ex-NHL goalie expresses concern over the Toronto Maple Leafs handling of Auston Matthews

Martin Biron is a goaltender who saw a lot during his time in the NHL, which makes him qualified to talk about the Toronto Maple Leafs and their star Auston Matthews.
In case you haven't noticed already, Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews has missed a huge chunk of the season so far, and there is still very little clarity on his injury.

While speaking on TSN, former NHL goaltender Martin Biron gave his take on the Matthews drama, and how the team has handled it thus far.
Mostly, Biron is just worried about the Maple Leafs captain's health and how there is just so much uncertainty around it right now.
«I'm very concerned because of the fact that there's no timetable (for a full recovery). We don't know what the injury is, and we don't know if this will happen again.

Biron also spoke about how people like Craig Berube and Brad Treliving have been less than forthcoming about what is really going on.
For him, the franchise's lack of transparency does nothing to dispel the concerns of the fanbase.
«They don't want to let anybody know. But that's very concerning in that point alone-it's that they don't want to tell anybody because I don't think they know for sure what is happening and how to remedy it.»
Matthews has consistently said that he is getting better but he is unsure of when he will be back to 100 percent.
Meanwhile, the captain has been ruled out of tonight's game, and there are concerns that Matthews will have to miss the 4 Nations Face-Off.
It is getting to a point where no one actually knows what is going on and for fans, this reality is simply unacceptable.
Hopefully, it is something that can be remedied by playoff time.
