Former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Jay Rosehill has always been critical of Mitch Marner, although with a new interview in mind, those criticisms have skyrocketed.
Jay Rosehill is one of the hosts of Leafs Morning Take, and he has always been brutally honest about how he feels regarding the players on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Throughout the years, he has been particularly critical of Mitch Marner, although for good reason, as the forward has had some bad playoff moments with the team.
Now, the forward is playing for the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and Rosehill will have some fodder depending on how Marner performs.
Jay Rosehill takes Mitch Marner to task
Recently, Marner sat down for a tell-all interview with Mark Masters, where he revealed that he needed security at his home for two weeks after losing in the playoffs. This was due to the fact that some Leafs fans were sending him death threats.
Despite this harrowing admission, Rosehill does not seem to be buying it. Instead, he took to social media, where he claimed that Marner comes across as a liar.
Why does he always seem so full of sh*t
This kind of commentary doesn't help the narrative that the Toronto media is obsessed with Marner and calling out players, no matter what.
Overall, it does feel like this is an unfair criticism of Marner, as there is no evidence that he is being untruthful. Instead, he is wearing his heart on his sleeve.
On January 23rd, Marner will be back in Toronto, and there will be lots of fanfare surrounding that game.
Leafs fans will surely boo, and if they do, then Marner will have been more than justified in his decision to leave.
