Fans Are Begging the Toronto Maple Leafs to Take the Captaincy Away from Auston Matthews

After a loss to the Seattle Kraken in which Anthony Stolarz reached his breaking point, some are claiming that Auston Matthews needs to be punished.
Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs lost to the Seattle Kraken last night, and it was not a good showing from the team or the captain.
After the game, goaltender Anthony Stolarz showcased his frustrations, and he took a multitude of teammates to task.

As you can see from the comments below, Stolarz is angry, and he wants to see much better from his team.
I mean, it's just playing hard. I mean, maybe we can take a page out of their book and start getting to the net. I mean, for us, we like to go low to high and shoot, but for their goalie, it's like playing catch in the yard. You're seeing everything and we're not making it difficult. We made it difficult in the third and look what happened. We came out, tied the game, got a point out of it, almost scored with five seconds left, but it's a little too little, too late. We're six games into the season... enough's enough and we kind of got to start picking it up here.
Meanwhile, Toronto Maple Leafs fans are currently calling for Auston Matthews to have the captaincy taken away from him.
He didn't stick up for his goaltender, and the Leafs are barely putting in any effort to start the season, which is not good.
Give this guy the C and strip it from Matthews. Someone decides to say enough is enough with this pussy shit that Bérubé likes to play.
I wish our «captain» had an ounce of Stollie's heart and courage.
Give the C back to Tavares. Matthews played better without the added weight of the pressure of being C. I think we would see his goal scoring jump back up bc he would have less on his mind except scoring! Tavares is a natural leader and his work ethic screams Captain!
While it is unlikely that Matthews will have the captaincy taken away, he should see this as a blunt message.
