Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube had no choice but to respond last night after goaltender Anthony Stolarz spilled all of his feelings in epic fashion.
After the game,
Anthony Stolarz was absolutely livid while speaking about his Maple Leafs teammates, and it has led to some discourse about this team.
At this stage, it really does feel as though the Maple Leafs are a lost cause. Six games into the season, and they cannot get it together when it comes to being tough.
Head coach Craig Berube has failed at changing the DNA of the team, and it feels like something needs to be done; otherwise, things will just get worse.
Anthony Stolarz has Craig Berube scrambling
After the match, Craig Berube was asked about the Stolarz rant and just how the game played out in general.
As you can imagine, the head coach completely agreed with what his goaltender had to say.
We're not clearing out the crease enough, we're not doing a good enough job there.
We got to protect our goalie. You got to be harder around our net. I'm not preaching, 'Go & take guys' heads off' but enough's enough
It does feel like either some guys need to be benched, or given a healthy scratch as a means of showcasing that everyone needs to be better.
In fact, Sammy Blais should get some playing time going forward. Even
Michael Pezzetta could be given an opportunity.
Ultimately, the Maple Leafs are 3-2-1 right now, and that just isn't good enough for a team that is trying to win the Atlantic Division.
